Take Action

Urge your members of Congress to support legislation to expand and extend restitution for the communities harmed by U.S. nuclear weapons activities.

You can also find a full list here of House co-sponsors and Senate co-sponsors of the RECA Amendments of 2023 in the 118th Congressional session.

Help generate more support by sharing the action:

Ask your friends and family to take action by asking their representatives to support the expansion and extension of RECA, and let them know why this expansion is so important!

  • Although Congress extended RECA to make sure it didn’t expire, many of those harmed by U.S. nuclear tests, production, and uranium mining are still not eligible for compensation.

  • Explain why you’re sharing:

    • A two year extension is not enough! We need Congress to strengthen RECA to help victims of U.S. nuclear weapons activities achieve justice.

    • Past bills, the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act Amendments of 2021, would extend RECA beyond 2022 and expand coverage to communities exposed to radiation that have so far been excluded.
